Analyzing the Controversy Surrounding the Free Bus Scheme and Metro Occupancy Rates
-- Vasavya Yagati
The government has requested that L&T rebuild the pillar at their own cost. During the election period, L&T had promised to cover these repair costs. However, now they are reluctant to take on that responsibility. The previous government did not accept any design failure, and L&T did not accept any construction defect. So, who will take responsibility of pillar collapse?
There is a lack of understanding between Revanth and L&T, unlike the previously good relationship between L&T and KCR.
- There has been no reduction in the number of travelers on the Metro; in fact, demand has been increasing month by month. There is no information indicating a decrease in the occupancy rate due to free buses.
- Many city buses on Metro routes were canceled at least five years ago.
- t's important to note that the free bus scheme applies only to passenger (ordinary) buses, which are very limited on Metro routes.
- Typically, those who can't afford Metro tickets are opting to travel on free buses even at heavy rush
- Over the past year, free buses have also been introduced in Bangalore. Compared to Bangalore Metro, Hyderabad Metro has been more successful in terms of occupancy rates.
L&T statement is simply Politically & Business baised..
I don't know how dare to comment publicly on a Govt scheme (that too, govt implemented based on People of Telangana given mandate for that scheme in recent elections) without any evidence/concurrence data presented to the Govt by a contractor doing business with Govt..
IMO, Govt of Telangana must give a show cause notice to L&T for their politically motivated statement to blame Govt.
